How does DailyCareCalls compare to pendant services?
DailyCareCalls provides a different type of service than pendant services. Pendant services can be a very useful and life-saving form of eldercare. However, pendent services are very reactive and require the user to wear equipment and be within range of a base station. This isn't always useful for older adults who are prone to sudden falls or dementia, and also not as suitable for slightly more active adults who may venture out to the garden or garage where a pendent may not be able to link the home station.

DailyCareCalls provides proactive home monitoring. DailyCareCalls initiates the call and doesn't require any special equipment. Being out of range or forgetting to wear the equipment during sudden falls will not prevent someone from being notified when problems do arise.

Ultimately the services are very different and meet very specific needs. The consistent monitoring that DailyCareCalls provides can be used to compliment the use of a pendant service which is offering the on-demand emergency support that many older adults need as well.

Will DailyCareCalls require my loved one to wait by a phone for a phone call?
No. There are multiple ways that DailyCareCalls works around your loved one's schedule. First of all, DailyCareCalls will not notify assistance contacts after the first call. If they are unavailable during the first call, they can grab the second, third, or fourth call.

Also, DailyCareCalls also provides a feature called Self Check-in. At anytime before the scheduled call, your loved one can call our toll free number to check in to the system. Our recommendation is that this toll free number be entered as a speed dial button so it is easily accessed and can be done easily.
